Siciliano Cocktail Recipe: Amaro and Espresso Coffee Cocktail

Siciliano Cocktail Recipe: Amaro and Espresso Coffee Cocktail

This recipe was shared with us by our friends a  Botanica Restaurant in Los Angeles.

This one is a treat.  Perfect for a boozy brunch with a shot of caffeinated espresso, and great for a post-meal evening night cap with a shot of decaf.  The herbal, bitter-sweet amaro pairs nicely with the rich cherry cola notes from the espresso, vermouth, and cherry. It's rich, syrupy and complex.  Give it a try and let us know what you think.

Here's the mix:

  • 1 1/2oz sweet red vermouth, like Carpano
  • 1 1/2oz Amaro, like Nonino or Montenegro
  • 2oz espresso, or cold brew concentrate
  • Splash of club soda
  • Luxardo cherry for garnish

Combine the amaro, vermouth, and espresso in a glass or shaker with ice, shake for 10 seconds, strain over ice if using cocktail shaker, top with a splash of club soda and garnish with a cherry.

Cheers!
