From the Roaster:

Muungano means “Togetherness” in Swahili, and it was in that spirit that 350 founding members came together to establish the Muungano Coffee Cooperative in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo in 2009. Today membership has grown to include more than 4,200 farmers.

Located on the slopes near the shores of Lake Kivu, this young cooperative exports up to five containers per year of specialty coffees to Europe and the US.

This single origin light roast has taste notes of: Milk chocolate, lemon, chamomile and fig with a syrupy body and juicy acidity.

I have been a subscriber since their launch, having been introduced to Better Grounds at a coffee festival. I have enjoyed every monthly selection so far! Their service is a great choice for anyone who, like me, wants easier access great quality coffee and anyone who might feel overwhelmed trying to look into the sourcing bonafides of different brands. I appreciate that they do this work for their clients, and also support different roasters who are doing good work.
